01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

One of the easiest pleasures of Botejyu is enjoying piping-hot griddle dishes without having to cook them yourself; everything is carefully prepared by the kitchen team. For an introduction to standard okonomiyaki, the Ganso Ton-tama makes an immediate impression, pairing tender pork rib with a rich sauce made from fruit and vegetables. Its fluffy batter is thoroughly satisfying on its own, but if you want something heartier with noodles layered into the mix, the Hassho Buta Modern stacks yakisoba and savoury pancake into a substantial, unified meal.

From Yakisoba and Takoyaki to Small Sharing Plates

The menu extends well beyond okonomiyaki. The pork yakisoba, prepared with a choice among 3 distinct sauces, has long been a staple for its sweet-savoury, aromatic sizzle, with variations such as salt-based and garlic-flavoured seasonings also on offer. For sides, you will find takoyaki made with a dashi batter flavoured with kelp and bonito flake, seared crisp on the outside, alongside tender Akashi tamagoyaki served with warm dipping broth, deep-fried chicken thigh paired with proprietary garlic mayonnaise, and Osaka-style skewers such as pickled red ginger kushikatsu. With varied small plates and griddled bites, it functions comfortably like a casual izakaya when matched with beer or a sour.

Under the Elevated Tracks, from Solo Dining to Groups

Set in an accessible spot beneath Nishi-Kasai Station, the dining room offers both counter seats and tables, making it convenient for anything from a quick solo lunch to a relaxed family meal. Midday service features wallet-friendly lunch sets complete with rice and miso soup, and takeout orders can also be placed ahead of time. Because there are no built-in griddles at the guest tables, lingering smoke and odours on clothing are minimal, leaving you free to drop in on a whim whenever a craving for sauce-drizzled comfort food strikes.
